The Asian Pacific Society of Respirology was established in 1986. The objectives of the Society are the advancement and promotion of knowledge of the respiratory system in health and disease. It strives to encourage research, improve clinical practice through teaching, increase awareness of health problems in the area and promote the exchange of knowledge among respirologists in the Asia Pacific region. The Society has since grown to approximately 15,000 members from over 40 countries/regions.
